The thick black lines represent cropmarks from rectified aerial photographs. Springs in the upper part of the valley kept the central area moist and prevented the parching which revealed the cropmarks elsewhere.

Resistivity plot. The bottom right corner was less responsive, so has been amplified to better show the features.
